Teresa Ann Shoulders-Brewer Biography
Teresa Ann Shoulders-Brewer is the oldest of two children born to Lzetta and the late Jesse C. Shoulders of White Plains, New York. She was born on December I, 1950 in New Rochelle, New York. Teresa is the wife of Pastor Tommie L. Brewer and stepmother of Adrianne (Travis) Grant, Marlon Brewer and Tifton (Daphne) Dobbs with a total of 11 grandchildren and 7 greatgrand children.
Being inspired by her mother's love for children, Teresa was very focused as a young adult to work as a Youth Counselor and Playground Director's position in the White Plains Recreation program. This energy encouraged her to pursue a degree in Elementary Education at AshlandCollege where she graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Teresa signed a contract, before graduating, to teach in theMansfield City School system.

Teresa signed a contract, before graduating, to teach in the Mansfield City School system.
In May 1988, she received her Masters Degree in Specific Learning Disabilities/Severe Behavior Handicap. The students of SBH class at Belden Elementary Schoolprovided her with an abundance of opportunities to work through challenges. With the successes that God has provided at Belden, the unit was moved to the current placement at Schreiber Elementary School. It is here that she taught Special Needs students for 17 years. Many of her accomplishments occurred with God ordering her steps and the support of her husband, Pastor Tommie. In 2005, Teresa joined the Allen Elementary School staff. Her goal there was to educate students with Learning Disabilities in grade 3-4, and K-3. Retirement became a reality on June 30, 2007 after focusing and educating students for 35 years.
As a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, she was a member of the Inspirational Choir, Trustee Board, Usher Board, Christian Education, Missionary Board, Bible Study, AWANA Club, Sunday School, Deaconess, Nursery, and Kitchen Ministry. Currently she is a member of the following ministries Trustee, Usher, Mass Choir, Youth, Deaconess Women's Choir, Women Ministry, Bible Study and Sunday School.
Her hobbies include walking, bowling, growing house plants, and gardening. The areas of interest include studying God's word, encouraging others, to assist special need students, being involved with Senior Adults, and working with behavior challenged children.
Putting God first, is a must. The scriptures that serve as her foundation is Proverbs 3:5-7 and Psalm 199 & 133
